The Graduate School at Hood College presented the 2019 Bryce Blackwood Beauchamp Outstanding Computer Science Student Award to Lawrence Everett Stewart, current graduate student in Hood College's Computer Science program. This award is funded anonymously in memory of Bryce Blackwell (Beecham).
Lawrence began his first career in aviation working at the reception desk of a flight school and finished it as a jet and helicopter pilot responsible for the safety of flight crews and aircraft at three bases. Always interested in a challenge, Lawrence then sought a new career in the always-changing field of computer science. He currently holds a position as director of systems engineering at VeraChem.
