Amanda Harris

Amanda Harris joined the human resources team in August 2022. She manages the day-to-day operations of the Hood College benefits plans.Harris also leads efforts to leverage the Human Resources Information System and improve user experience. Her focus is employee benefit education, engagement and satisfaction.

She began her HR career as a recruiter and benefits associate for various firms. From there, Harris spent 12 years with an insurance broker, A.J. Gallagher & Co., advising employers of all sizes on their employee benefits. She also educated and supported employees on how to best use the benefits they were offered.

Harris received a B.A. in secondary education/French from Salisbury University. During her studies, she was able to study abroad in Aix-en-Provence in the south of France for a summer.

Harris lives in Clarksburg with her husband Jeff and their two sons, Adam and Trevor. They have a Yorkie mix named Chewy. Harris loves good food with friends, nature and any crafts from crochet to Cricut.
