Christine Traini ’87, P’16, P’21

Christine Traini ’87, P’16, P’21, joined Hood College in April 2022. She directs the human resources team, which is responsible for talent management, benefits, compensation, professional development and HR compliance. While at Hood, she and her team have established service-level agreements and streamlined business critical processes, enhanced the functionality of the employee portal and re-established in-person training and employee events that stalled during the pandemic.

Before coming to Hood, Traini served as the senior organizational development/training specialist at Legal & General America (LGA) and in various HR business partner roles at AstraZeneca. While at LGA, her primary responsibilities included driving employee engagement, developing initiatives to address employee feedback and overseeing employee selection and onboarding processes to help managers make better hiring decisions as well as welcome and support new hires.

Traini received a Bachelor of Science from Hood College and an MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University. Two of her daughters also received bachelor’s degrees in mathematics from Hood in 2016 and 2021.

Christine has lived in Frederick for 35 years. She and her husband Tony have three daughters (two of whom were recently married) a Welsh terrier named Theo (who often comes to campus) and five chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, knitting and thrift shopping.
