Christy Graybeal, Ph.D., Math Education and Math Instructional Leadership graduate program director, presented research on Classroom-Tested Strategies to Cultivate Curiosity in High School Mathematics.  This research was conducted at Frederick High School with Hood Alum, Karine Ptak.

Students who are curious about mathematics are more likely to persevere. Unfortunately, by the time students reach high school, the mathematical curiosity of many students is diminished. In this session we shared how we infused curiosity-provoking strategies into Algebra II instruction, resulting in heightened student engagement.

Videos of our work with the Algebra II students can be found here.
