Students lining up for Commencement 2024

495 students earn Hood degrees.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

On May 18, 2024, the Hood College community celebrated the Class of 2024 at the 127th Commencement ceremony.

You are comprised of 274 undergraduate and 221 graduate students.

You are a diverse group from 18 states across the nation and 21 countires around the world.

Twenty-eight of you are legacy graduates, meaning you have a relative who is also a Hood alumni. This year, four of you were mother/daughter graduates, including Agnes T. Kuteyi, M.S.’24 and Princess A. Kuteyi, M.S.’24, as well as Rania F. Radwan, M.S.’11, DBA’24, and Omnia A. Salem ’21, M.S.’24.

Thirty-eight of you earning a graduate degree have previously earned your undergraduate degree from Hood.

Six of you are dedicated Hood employees, including Nikki Bamonti ’00, M.A.’24, director of admission.

Twelve of you are active-duty military or veterans, while four of you have just been commissioned as officers through the ROTC program.

At Hood, you discovered and pursued your interests and passions with excellence. You helped ensure the vibrancy of our campus community, whether in the classroom, the learning commons, commuter lounge, graduate school office, theatre; or on the playing field and even on Zoom. Your leadership and service has made an impact on campus, in the Frederick community and across the globe.

In the words of President Chapdelaine, “I have witnessed your resiliency, strength, drive, passion and, most important, the kindness and support you have shown to each other. These attributes will propel and sustain you through all the great adventures awaiting you.”
