Can you tell us about your educational and career background?

I started my career path graduating with a bachelor’s in psychology-human resources from Westminster College. I began my career in staffing, managing large contingent workforces, and partnering with clients on-site to meet their staffing and HR needs. My career brought me to Frederick, Maryland, where I helped open and ultimately manage our Mid-Atlantic region, working with a diverse range of companies—from small businesses to Fortune 500 organizations.

During this time, I pursued my MBA at Hood College to expand my business management expertise. In 2017, a unique opportunity led me to join Go Ape, an industry-leading aerial and zipline operator with 16 locations across the U.S. I started by supporting the HR function and now lead HR, Technology and Process Efficiency.

When you were choosing colleges, what was the driving force behind deciding on Hood college?

Being local to Frederick, I valued having an accessible campus where I could participate in person. I enjoyed engaging in classroom discussions, collaborating with other professionals and gaining an education that aligned with my goals. Hood College’s accreditation by the ACBSP assured me of its outstanding teaching standards, solidifying my choice.

How has the decision to attend Hood impacted your life and career?

Before pursuing my MBA, I was solely an HR practitioner. I knew I needed a broader understanding of business to advance in my career. Hood College’s MBA program was transformative, both personally and professionally.

The late nights and challenging coursework pushed me to grow, helping me build confidence in my ability to integrate multiple facets of business. This expanded perspective has been instrumental in earning trust and credibility with business leaders.

What did you enjoy about Hood College?

I thoroughly enjoyed the in-person learning experience at Hood. While remote learning works well for others, I found the classroom environment invaluable. Engaging directly with professors and peers broadened my perspective and enriched my learning. Collaborating with other professionals from diverse industries was a highlight of my time there.

In your position at Go Ape, what are some highlights you would like to share?

Working for a company that delivers fun and adventure daily is incredibly fulfilling. Hearing the excitement from patrons at our locations is a constant reminder of our impact.

Go Ape offers a range of products and services, so whether it’s hosting a kid’s birthday party or a corporation coming out to participate in our leadership development program, there is something available to get everyone out of their comfort zone.Knowing you are a part of an organization that is supporting the betterment of individuals and inspiring others to Live Life Adventurously is highly rewarding.

I also enjoy being a part of a company like Go Ape because it really allows me to be me—someone who wants to innovate and enact positive change. Go Ape fosters an entrepreneurial spirit, allowing me to implement new policies, processes and technologies that engage and empower our workforce.

Do you have any fun facts or hobbies you would like to share about yourself?

I’m passionate about cooking and spend a lot of time in the kitchen or at my smoker. I’m also a multi-instrument musician and enjoy using music as a creative outlet. These hobbies fuel my love for innovation and creativity in all areas of life.

When I’m not working or pursuing my hobbies, I value quality time with my wife and two children, whether we’re exploring new adventures or simply enjoying life together.
