President Chapdelaine was at the swearing-in ceremony of  The Honorable Jessica E. Fitzwater, M.S.’10 as Frederick County Executive on December 3, 2022. Ms. Fitzwater graduated from Hood with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. Prior to becoming county executive, Jessica was a music education teacher with Frederick County Public Schools. 

Delegate Kristopher G. Fair ’13, Maryland State General Assembly for District 3

Delegate Fair is the executive director of The Frederick Center and graduated from Hood with a B.A. in political science. Brynn Madore ’23 is currently working with Delegate Fair as an intern with the Maryland General Assembly. 

Delegate Kenneth P. Kerr ’81 Maryland State General Assembly for District 3B

Delegate Kerr graduated from Hood in 1981 with a B.A. in music. He is a current member of the Faculty Advisory Council and the Oversight Committee on Quality of Care in Nursing Homes and Assisted-Living Facilities on the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC).

April Miller is a licensed optometrist, and a parent to Haley Velez '23.
