Hood and FCPS Sign First NeighborHOOD Partnership Agreement
FREDERICK, Maryland—Hood College has launched a “NeighborHOOD” partner program that will offer Frederick County partners tuition discounts for their employees and their dependents. The first partnership was signed today with Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS).
“As an anchor institution and in fulfillment of our mission, we are committed to increasing access to a Hood education to the people living and working in Frederick County,” said Hood President Andrea E. Chapdelaine, Ph.D. “We are thrilled to kick off this program with FCPS, with which we have shared a long and proud partnership in providing quality education to our community.”
Hood will provide tuition discounts to FCPS employees, their spouses and dependent children who are degree seeking and enrolled either full time at the undergraduate level or part time at the graduate level. Full-time undergraduates will receive a $15,000 annual tuition discount; and part-time graduate students will receive a $500 tuition discount per semester for up to two semesters during the academic year.
“FCPS appreciates the discounted rates our employees and their families will enjoy through Hood College’s NeighborHOOD Partners Program,” said Theresa Alban, Ph.D., superintendent of FCPS. “This is an excellent way to support education and lifelong learning in Frederick County.”
Hood’s NeighborHOOD Partners Program is designed to thank community partners, increase access to a Hood education to help build a more knowledgeable and prepared workforce, and contribute to the intellectual capital of the community.
