Hood Board of Trustees Welcomes Two New Members
Marylou Herrmann Foley '64 and Veleka Peeples-Dyer have been appointed to the Hood College Board of Trustees following the Board’s June meeting.
Foley earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Hood in 1964 before receiving a master’s degree in social studies from Eastern Michigan University. Professionally, Foley has 13 years of educational experience, ranging from high school teacher to university student affairs, foreign student and study abroad advisor. Foley served as president and CEO of Tour Designs Inc. for more than 40 years, planning and hosting special interest and study-abroad tours in dozens of countries and cities across the globe.
Peeples-Dyer graduated from Hampton University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has spent over 24 years advising biopharmaceutical companies around the globe as legal and compliance counsel and a strategic member of executive management teams at global biopharmaceutical companies and as a partner at one of the world’s largest law firms. She presently serves on the Board of Directors for Replimune (NASDAQ: REPL); Syridex Bio, and the Frederick Innovative Technology Center (FITCI). Peeples-Dyer has spent over 24 years in the Frederick, MD, community as an active participant in the community and shares a deep commitment to education. She has received recognition for her business, legal and compliance expertise, including being named a Top Women Leader in DC for 2024 and 2023 and was named one of the most influential black executives in corporate America and one of the most influential black lawyers by Savoy Magazine.
