Hood College to host Violinist Ava Pakiam

""

Hood College is proud to host Ava Pakiam, a 14-year-old recitalist and violin soloist, for a winter violin recital in the Coffman Chapel on Sunday, February 16 at 3 p.m.

This recital is made possible by the Phyllis and Ardine Gorden Concert Fund. This event is unticketed and is free and open to the public.

Pakiam made her solo debut in California at eight years old, performing the Mozart Concerto No. 2 with the Fremont Symphony. Later that summer, she performed Vivaldi’s Winter Concerto with the Sempre Musik Orchestra and New York Sinfonietta in Boston and New York City, making her solo debut at Carnegie Hall at age 8. As a participant at the Sounding Point Academy at Colburn School in L.A., Pakiam was the youngest-ever student to perform in an evening recital, streamed live by The Violin Channel at age 12, performing “Le Vent” by Vecsey.
