Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop and More at Hood College Fall Dance Ensemble

FREDERICK, Maryland—The Hood College Dance Ensemble will present its fall concert Nov. 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.

Some of the dances include a group jazz piece choreographed by co-captain Holly Barnett to Ariana Grande’s “Greedy,” a group contemporary dance by Caroline Jeranek to Bon Iver’s “Holocene,” and a duet tap number choreographed by Gabriella and Layla Basile to MKTO’s “Classic.”

Other dances will include a group modern piece by Philippine Leclerc to Tom Walker’s “Leave The Light On,” a choreographed hip-hop duet called “Get Busy” by co-captions Holly Barnett and Jacqueline Larios to a mix of Daddy Yankee and Sean Paul, and a group contemporary piece by Kierra Riley to James Arthur’s “Train Wreck.”

Also performing are Gabriella and Layla Basile in a group tap number to the “Friends” theme song by Rembrandts, guest choreographer Kristine Genovese in a group modern piece to Imogen Heap’s “Tidal,” and ensemble director Fran Marsili in a choreographed group jazz number to “Higher Ground” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Guest artists Souls of The Feet Dance Company will also perform.
