Lecture on Risk Management

FREDERICK, Maryland—Risk management expert Phil Renaud will give a talk at Hood College on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall.

His lecture, titled “Organizational Culture and the Future of Risk Management,” will discuss how companies and organizations can manage and navigate risk to help them succeed.

Renaud graduated from Hood in 1983 with a Master of Science in Administration and Management, and he has enjoyed a long and successful career in risk management. As executive director of the Risk Institute at The Ohio State University, he works with students interested in risk careers. He also collaborates with businesses executives on matters related to risk. The Risk Institute is built on three pillars—research into risk topics, education and curriculum, and corporate outreach.

For 25 years, Renaud has managed several large, multi-location, international risk management functions, gaining expertise in the practice of risk management, direct insurance, and safety and health. He has managed risk programs at several companies including DHL, LBrands, Kmart and JLG Industries.

Renaud’s lecture is part of the La Fleur Management Lecture Series, sponsored by Bruce La Fleur, a Hood College MBA alumnus. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact David Gurzick at gurzick@hood.edu or 301-696-3857.
