Panel Discusses Globalized Nationalism
FREDERICK, Maryland—A panel of Hood College faculty members will discuss national boundaries surrounding Israel and Jerusalem on Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center Commons.
During the discussion, titled “Globalized Nationalism: Jerusalem and the Global Politics of National Boundaries,” panelists from the Departments of Art and Archaeology, Political Science, and Global Languages and Cultures will explore the diplomatic, cultural and religious significance of the recent decisions to relocate national embassies in Israel to Jerusalem. The panelists will contextualize these events within a broader discussion of the process and challenges of determining national boundaries in a globalized age. Corey Campion, Ph.D., assistant professor of history and global studies, will be the moderator.
