Biography
I received a Ph.D. in management with a major concentration in finance and a minor concentration in economics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, an M.Sc. in quantitative finance from Rutgers Business School, and a B.Sc. in economics from Shandong University. I have taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in finance and business economics topics, such as financial management, financial modeling, econometrics, portfolio management, research methods in asset management, managerial accounting, and international business at Rutgers Business School, Rutgers University Newark Institute at NENU, Oakland University and Hood College.
My research lies in corporate finance, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, international business, and corporate innovation, with particular interest in parsing and analyzing unstructured and qualitative information. I have published more than a dozen articles in such scholarly outlets as the Journal of Corporate Finance, Economics and Politics, Review of Managerial Science, Eurasian Business Review, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, and Managerial Finance. My research has been presented and discussed at various academic conferences and seminars, including the American Finance Association Annual Meeting, Financial Management Association Annual Meeting, Public Policy Analysis & Management Fall Research Conference, Western Economics Association International Annual Meeting, Microsoft Research, and the University of Washington Fostering Inclusion Workshop.
I have provided peer-review services for journals in the field of business economics and management, including the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, the British Accounting Review, the Review of Managerial Science, and the Journal of Infrastructure, Policy and Development. I’m also an editorial board member for Economics, Financial Economics Letters, and Economics and Business Quarterly Reviews.
