Student Advocacy Groups
There are two disability-related student groups on campus.
Office of Accessibility Services Includes Students (OASIS) is the student advisory board that informs OAS practice. Volunteer student members lead efforts to advocate for disability rights and educate the community about disability and the perspectives of disabled people.
The Disabled Student Union (DSU) is a student-run organization on campus. The mission of the DSU is to create an open environment for the Hood College disabled community and its allies to come together in partnership. They strive to:
- Promote the principles of universal design while dismantling ableism.
- Improve campus accessibility for students with disabilities.
- Raise awareness of disability and disabled people's experiences on campus.
- Create a sense of community and camaraderie and a safe space where all are welcome.
