Phi Alpha Theta
Phi Alpha Theta is the national collegiate honor society in history. Hood's chapter was installed in 2002 with 15 history students becoming the charter members.
Phi Alpha Theta promotes the study of and love of history with chapters and activities all over the country, including a newsletter, a scholarly journal, scholarships, and national and regional conferences where student members present their historical research.
Membership criteria are based on the number of history courses taken and performance in those courses; students do not have to be history majors to be invited to join.
